Teenagers Etiquette

Teenagers have been learning about respect, consideration, and honesty from their parents since they were toddlers. Now, it's time to see how those lessons will play out in the real world. Of course, in a perfect world, these traits will carry over into their teen years and beyond. So it's up to parents to set a good example for their children and let them know that they're still loved and respected no matter what choices they make.

The situation can be a difficult and awkward time for both parents and teenagers. Parents want to give their children space to learn and grow, but they also want to make sure they're safe and doing what's right. So they need to keep an eye on them without smothering them. And teenagers need to find a balance between asking for advice and showing independence as they transition from child to adult. But as hard as this period is for both parties, it's worth the effort, because there are some general rules of etiquette that teenagers should follow — not just because their parents say so, but because it's how we treat each other every day: Expecting your teenager to be respectful and considerate might seem like an obvious thing for parents to expect of their children. However, we understand how it might feel. So for October, we will focus on teenagers' etiquette. How we parents can build a strong relationship with our teens while guiding them to become the best version of themselves.
